7 Techniques Every Programmer Should Know

Hey, do you want to reduce your stress and find more focus at work?

Then let me tell you my story in 4 sentences.

I was working in Brazil as a programmer and was really burnt out. I had no more mental and physical energy and just felt exhausted. Of course, this also gnawed at my self-confidence and concentration. One day it even got to the point where I couldn’t stop my thoughts.

But in my last two years of research, I discovered 7 techniques, that can combate stress at the workspace and boost you with new energy and concentration.

Do you want to know how?

Then let me share my 7 hacks to focused programming work with you:

  1. Drink enough water
Our brain consists of between 70 – 80% water. Therefore, drink plenty of water to keep your brain functioning well.

2. Take deep breaths
Our brain holds only 2% of our body weight, but uses 20% of the oxygen. Therefore, deep breaths will provide your brain with oxygen well.

3. The right diet
Avocados, blueberries, walnuts and broccoli are simply awesome for your brain.

4. Move your body
Move your body every 30 to 60 minutes to increase your metabolism and increase bloodflow to your brain.

5. Stress management
Find a way to deal with stress. Good techniques are: Yoga, meditation or mindfulness exercises.

6. Super Brain Yoga
There are movements that connect both hemispheres of the brain and bring new oxygen and therefore energy to it. The Super Brain Yoga is a simple, yet powerful physical exercise for more brain power:

7. Get enough sleep
It is in our rest periods that our brain recovers. Therefore, make sure you get enough and high quality sleep. 3 tips for better sleep quality are: keep your dorm cool, keep your dorm dark and try not to eat heavily before going to bed.

8. Bonus tip: Guayusa Brain Tea
This sort of tea used by native tribes for decades, because it contains caffeine and L-theanine, which activates your brain, and gives you relaxed awareness.

I hope these techniques can help you in every day.

I wish you all the best,
